SETTING SMART GOALS

Everyone has their own path to personal fitness but it can be easy to get sidetracked. SMART goals keep you on track and remind you of your priorities.

Instead of chasing the idea of fitness, try to set specific goals or milestones with a plan and timeline in place.

Specific

Start with something that’s not too vague or arbitrary.

Measurable

Get quantitative and determine exactly how you plan to measure success.

Attainable

Make a plan and prioritize the steps that will lead you to your goal.

Relevant

Whether you want to feel confident at a big event or feel better during everyday activities, pinpoint why a goal is important to you.

Timely

You want to be strict about a deadline—doing so creates urgency. It's also important not to set your sights too far out.
